I drive 65 on the freeway. I run about 1500 or so RPM's and get roughly 28Mpg

A lot of the tips I read are bunk for our cars.

For one, they all say going 65 saves gas over 75. Not in my car. With the gearing I have, going 65 in 5th is lugging the engine. I get better mileage at 80 than I do at 65 because my car is more in it's torque curve.

Your best fuel economy will be in your highest gear, at the engine's peak torque rpm.

Well, without taking aerodynamics into account, you'll get maximum theoretical mileage with the 4.0 V6 in 5th gear at 3500rpm.

I'm guessing that that's a little over the speed limit, though Plus, aerodynamics will be fighting you.
