You're golden sport - you did nothing wrong - right hand turn out of the center lane for a truck is not a legal maneuver. See if you can get these pics printed out - get a copy of the local code for trucks and make sure it's the same there that it is here.

Also get a copy of the police report - write down all the details while they are still fresh in your head.

Not trying to scare you - just have many years experience in this field and want to help a fellow stang owner with what can be a daunting process.

They may just say - yep - here's your check and send you on your way. Just be nice - but be prepared.

Best of luck - they should be able to fix that - you'll have a brand new door and some body work on those panels - hopefully it didn't screw the frame up...if it did, you might have other issues.

wow, yeah you could have had it worse, good luck gettin it taken care of... i swear and as important as the trucking industry is I absolutely hate them being on the road with us... we need a dedicated lane for trucks on our roads, we dont stand a chance against them. I have had a few scarey moments in colorado in the mountains with those trucks...you look in your rear view and see a monster barreling down on you.. ya either get the hell outta the way or squish

Due to what could be frame damage, how beat in the door is, and possible unseen damages (he dragged me into a curb which I ended up bouncing off) they said they don't feel it is safe to drive.

I wouldn't want to drive that - hell no! If you bounced off a curb, you probably do have a little frame damage. They may be able to straighten it but you might be better off pushing for a total and gettin a new one. Take it to a few places for opinions but realize - they're just like noses - everyone's got one

OUCH.... that sux man. Glad you're ok. My dad has driven a truck for 25 years. He has had two accidents just like this. One was questionable on whose fault it was and the other was a 16 year old girl on a cell phone. He was in the right lane and the girl was behind him. He signaled and she stated in the police report that she SAW the signal. As my dad went to go wide and make his right, the girl went between his trailer and the curb ran up along side of him and hit the rear wheels of his TRUCK. Any idiot could have seen that it was her fault... But of course my pops got the ticket and the cop even told him he wasn't at fault, but the law states that he was... So you should have no problem winning this one. Hope all works out with the car man!!

911 was my second call. My dad who I work with was my first call. When I called the police they asked if anyone was injured and if the vehicals were drivable. When I said yes, they told me it wasn't worth their time to come and I should just go to the police station and report it there.

As for injuries, I'm not getting off that luckily. Had to leave work at 2:00 to go to the hospital, I have to go see my doctor on Saturday as well now. They believe I may have pinched a nerve in my neck from the jolt. I am experiencing a lot of pain in my neck, shoulder and back, along with a tingly sensation in my arm. Hopefully it turns out to be nothing.

Dude the truth is that we don't respect the truck drivers and they surely don't respect us.A truck driver died here in VA a couple of months a go due to someone messing around and from that their was a reign of accidents occuring all over VA in a certain time span, coincidence, i doubt it.When i approach a vehicle especially a truck i get over at the end of his trailor where i can react or he can react and i look in his side mirror at him, most aware drivers know whensomeone has entered their space and once he sees me i move.A truck can't brake and come to hault like smaller vehicles they are very blind sided and the last thing you want to do is mess around a rig or pull in his blind spot, could cost you.Besides even if they made a lane for trucks motorists would still get in do 45 in a 65 a wouldn't care.To be honest most of todays drivers make me sick, they drive slow you try to get around they speed up they don't signal and they do just about everything in a car while moving these days.Sorry i getting carried away glad you're ok, becareful some drivers are deliberate.A twin screw stang in traffic is a good thing to have,i do beleive power can also save yourlife if used correctly.

think of trucks like elephants.. big, heavy, slow and hard to stop.. give them their room and they will give you yours.

I wouldn't advise getting into a round of "it's my lane" with them either.
