urgent help

I need help quick is why this is posted in the clubhouse. I was trying to change my brakes and rotors. One of the two 15mm bolts to take the bracket off refuses to go back in. Would it be alright to drive without one on it to my dealership and have them fix it?

bolt isn't stripped. I'm guessing where it screws in is cross threaded. Cant get the other bolt off to make sure that it is aligned but it hasn't moved position since coming off.

at this point im so frustrated with these rusted on bolts that I just wanna get it to the dealership. It isn't that far, would it completely not make it?

Edit: I mean would it fall off from using the brakes.

It just isnt a good idea. Call a tow truck or a friend with a truck and have him pull you.

The bolt is only a couple bucks I had one break off but it had to be special ordered. I'd get a ride or call them first just so you don't break anything else.

If its the top hole on the bracket thats good and you can't get the bottom one in then when you hit the brakes the caliper will rotate up. If you can get the one in the bottom in and tight you can limp it to the dealer just no hard braking. But like I said if you have the top bolt in and the bottom not it will be bad

i'm with j. it's worth the 50 bucks or so. especially compared to the money you'd possibly be spending if it did fly off going down the road.

The bottom bolt is still in, I think i'm gonna limp it to work tommorow. I work ten hours which should be plenty of time for them to get it in and fixed.

It wouldn't fly off but it would fuck up the brakes.

Thanks for quick response

did you try putting the other bolt in? if it doesn't go in then get a tap and die or a thread chaser and do it yourself and save an assload of money. u can get one from autozone.
