I just got out of a meeting with the owner of my dealership and he said that they did show them the 2010 Mustang in person, not just a picture. What he said was that if you thought of the S197 being based off from the '65, the 2010 looked like a '68 or '69 taking cues from that.
Also we will have a new Fusion and Taurus by 2010. The fusion will be available with a hybrid powertrain boasting best in class mpg.

dude, I really hope your dealer is right...

I noticed that a while ago that the S197 reminded me more of the 65 mustangs... and I've always hoped that they'd come out with one that looks more like the '68 and '69s... those year mustangs are the definition of badass

I had already asked him about the powertrain but nothing stood out in his mind about that. Its not like he is a "Mustang guy". All of his information came from the dealer show in Las Vegas. We watched a video about the dealer meetings but they wouldnt show any pics due to it possibly getting out on the internet. I cant believe no one snuck a few pics, but the ramifications of that happening are too great to chance I suppose. But he clearly stated they had one there in person to look at on the stage and talked about the upcoming vehicles Ford has in its arsenal. 2010 is going to be a great year for Ford.

wonder if the 6.2 would fit in our s197s. anyone speculate the weight difference between our cars and the 2010, more or less? im guessing heavier, closer to 3700-3800.

Car and driver said it was the same chassis, but what do they know?

The new picture don't mean crap. They just showed it along with the story, never said it was the new car. They said FORD will unveil the new stang this fall so you know it's not the new car in that pic.

It looks too Giugiaro designed to me. If they go with his Italian porno style, we'll have brown dairy cow pattern seats and lambo doors. lol
