It sounds like a street version of the FR500 5.0L DOHC crate motor they use in the cup race cars. I doubt it'll be a 400hp 4v unless it's in a Mach1 or Boss 302 etc. I'd bet it'll still be detuned down to something like 350-ish hp. It would take the GT500/R/FGT heads to make that 400hp n/a on a 5.0L I'd think as well. In reality, I don't think they'll put that much HP in the next GT model, and certainly not a DOHC 4v in a GT. I think everyone would love a 400hp 5.0L DOHC in every GT for the GT's price, but I just can't see Ford ever giving us that dream (what we all really want). We can wish, though! ![]() I could be wrong and I hope I am!

from what he heard that motor will be in the mustang gt. And by the way the motor is not from ford racing. Everyting is brand new. The heads, crank and rods will be made from the plant where my father works. Nothing is being used from current motors. If you guys dont believe me then just wait and see when ford unveils this motor.

![]() I'd poop my pants if they really did give every GT a 400hp 5.0L DOHC! But I still will think conservatively so I won't be too let down if they detune it, make it another SOHC, or only use it in an uber priced Mach1/Boss 302.
