1/4 mile

so went to race my car for the first time in the 1/4. here are my times.

1st run

R/T .493 (i know. it sucks)
60 ft. 2.135
330 5.876
1/8 8.919 @ 81.07mph
1000 11.534
1/4 13.764 @100.94mph

2nd run

R/T .220(better!!!)
60 ft. 2.159
330 5.934
1/8 8.991 @80.79mph
1000 11.612
1/4 13.848 @ 100.67mph

do you all think those are good times for the mods i have? K&n CAI, 1" TB spacer, 3.73 gears, sct tune 93 oct(brenspeed), and slp loudmouth axlebacks

Yeah they are pretty good for your first time. But you could see low 13s with more seat time. Some stickier tires would help too because your sixty foot times are pretty bad. How were you launching?

my car is an automatic i wasnt sure how well i would hook up so i was only launching it at about 2000rpms. on the street my tires would go up in smoke at that rpm.

also my 2.135 60 ft was better than a supercharged 05 gt that i was racing! lol his was a 2.145....and he only ran a 13.378 at 109

What condition are your tires in? Because you should have a better 60' than that. How were you launching it?

my tires dont even have 1000 miles on them. they are brand new pirellis. i was also told not to warm them up since they are street tires. i just brought my rpms up to about 2000 and when the light turned green it was pedal to the floor. no spinning. a little bit of a bog, but not much

the elevation im at is about 3200ft. so im sure that is going to be a bit of a factor too

i know they arent the best tires to drag on, but after my left rear blew out going 135 and the fact that the tire was still fully intact except for a little hole in the bottom where i ran over something, has gotten me sold on these tires.

hmm i just found out that the elevation i was actually about 2900 ft. the NHRA elevation correction factor puts my car at a 13.28 @ 104.64mph if it were at sea level. according to my first run. i dont think thats too bad considering?

Not too bad bro. Next time you're @ the track, ask around. See if you can get a hand on a set of slicks from last years warriors. I got mine w/ wheels for $100!! Had only like 30 passes on 'em. M/T ET Streets...

actually to light your tires up even street tires is not a bad idea. Just light em up for a second of two though. it gets some new rubber on the tires. Thats all. Dont get them really hot, just some new rubber on em...

do not go through th water puddle with street tires. Yo ucan light streets up for a second or 2 though
