Thanks Genevieve - No freaky things happened today. Hoping maybe it was just two flukes in a row.

Exactly! Since I put the Bassani's on, I notice things move quicker now. Which makes me think maybe this animal might have been sick - they're nocturnal - why was he out at noon time? He ran kind of funny too. Maybe I put him out of my misery with my $1000. lol A .22 shot would have been cheaper.

Good stuff lol At least it was a Chevy...

I offered it up to the guy that came to rescue me - he opted to pass. Looked like someone got it though - it was gone when I went home that way after work. lol

Anyway - the shop ordered the parts today - dropping it off on Tuesday. They said they'd do touch ups and buff it up for me too. No charge...

After a lengthy pissing match with the claim rep, the estimator came to the office and wrote their own estimate - don't want to get screwed by the body shop ya know - They're paying me per their estimate which is more than the shops estimate. Interesting. They could have just paid per my estimate and saved the gas to drive to my office, the time to inspect the car, write the estimate, print the estimate and all the paper and toner as well and been ahead of the game.

But - whatever - at least the shop will get a little something extra for the touch up and buff they promised me.

Hopefully they won't need to keep her over night - hate leaving it some where...

I know...I did think about it...but there were a couple of reasons I decided against it.

1) I'm a purist when it comes to body lines.

2) It makes me sad to see my car broken and it would have taken me AGES to decide what to put back on the front end.

So OEM it was.

The after markets I've seen on here look spectacular though...

I once hit a racoon in a Ford Focus while traveling 110 mph on gray county road 8 at 4 in the morning.

I believe it - this one was in pieces for sure. Damn near hit another one tonight but it was already dead so I was able to move around it. LOTS of them around...not feeling sorry for them so much anymore.

Yeah. Fortunately for me, he crouched down at the last second, and I must have got him with the k member or something, because there was 0 damage to the car.

It did get me to thinking though, since there are a lot of critters and such up here, that it's probably a good time to slow down, especially at night. Had that been a deer, at that speed, I probably wouldn't be here right now.

Haaa...yeah, had I not just left work, I might have had to think about that one for a second but I was stone cold sober both times. Nothing has happened since then so guessing it's all good.

All of sudden, the volume turns up pretty loud BY ITSELF! ???

Is there anything electrical in the lower front of the car on close to the underside of the car that could have been jarred loose?

Surely to God I don't have a RAcoon ghost!?!?!
The trunk could've been opened from the start, the rubber seal tends to stick to the trunk and until the trunk is lossed up it won't show trunk ajar warning... I've experienced this when my trunk latch to a shit, as for the radio... well that's a buggy little sucker, once mine didn't have any vocals at all, all I could hear was distorted bass, shut it off and turned it on and it fixed itself as far as electricals in the lower front, no, other than the transmission sensor conectors...

Thanks Luis! You know, I've noticed the trunk is mighty hard to open some times. I have to hit the release button several times before it will actually release. Is that what you're speaking of above?

So instead of a Shaker, it should be called a Shakey? lol

yep, it ussually is unlached by the first press of the button, but it'll looked closed and when you managed to pop it open it'll make a sound as if it's unsticking itself.
