Zip, I concur. And I am one of the MANY V8 owners who have undoubtedly let go of their V8 for more economically-viable modes of transport. My cobra was the only car I could afford (meaning, I had to use it as my DD... not enough fundage to have a stang AND a separate car for the commute) but with premium in Seattle nearing the $5/gal. mark, I made the no-brainer decision for a single 24 year old.

I don't see a problem with people griping about fuel prices and our/their mustangs/camaros/transams. Hell, most of us bought these cars back when gas was $1.35/gal. and could afford to scorch some asphalt.

there's a lot to be frustrated about these days. I work my ass off 55 hours a week at a very respectable Fortune-500 company, sometimes, not getting but one or two days off a month, but still I can't afford a home to call my own. Sure, I could buy a 700 sq. ft. condo somewhere (which prices for are outrageous in their own right), but whatever happened to starting a family in your 20's, and having a house with a yard and getting by like our parents and grandparents did once? Sure fuel is killing our economy, but our economy would still be bad if a barrel of crude oil dropped to $50. (what's it at now? $135/barrel?!!!)

its all on how you drive. guy from car and driver got 30 mpg out of a mach 1. I was reading an article where a guy drove his 84 vette 150 miles and averaged 54 mpg and it wasnt all down hill. So you wanna save gas, dont drive over 55 due to aerodynamics, dont race around all the time, and just be an overall better drive. My $.02
