Let me give you a different perspective on things brother.

Many of us here bought our cars before the gas prices shot up.

Forgetting even that aspect, did it ever occur to you that many of us here had to make a tough decision when buying our Mustangs, because although we wanted a cool car, we may NOT be rich, and as such can't afford a separate daily driver, and need to USE our Mustangs in the real world, every day. I have to drive mine 500 miles back and forth to work every week, and I'll be damned if I'm going to drive a Honda because you might think I'm a whiner for believing that fuel economy is a legitimate concern.

If your Mustang is just a toy, and/or you just don't care about mpg for WHATEVER reason, good on you. I respect that.

But don't disrespect me or others because it may be a concern to us.

No I DID drive a Focus, for 6 years. Put 150,000 miles on it. It was a good car.

But when I traded it in, I realized that the new Mustangs got 28+ mpg, and my insurance wasn't going to go up that much, so I bought the car even though I knew I had to commute with it in the summer months.

However when I bought it gas was a lot cheaper, and it has gone from costing me 30-35 dollars one way to get to work, to almost 60 bucks. So yes, that's a legitimate concern, I don't give a shit if you drive a bright fuschia smart car.

I understand that zip, but guys that are modding there cars want to know how to get better gas mileage, but they have plans of boost or other things that obviously AREN'T going to help gas mileage. i bought my Mach 1 knowing that gas prices are steadily increasing and knowing that my gas mileage was going to be shitty. I'm just tired of all the gas mileage threads. Theres at least 2 a day in the past week

I hear you man. But that's you. What is and isn't important to you doesn't necessarily apply to other people.

And for what it's worth, I can throw boost on my car, and maintain the exact same mpg I have now during normal driving.

You have to expect man that with gas cresting nearly 5 dollars a gallon that it is going to be a hot topic of discussion. And for those of us who are watching our pennies, it's a concern to us no matter what we drive.

And I will be fucked if I'm going to turn in my toy or stop playing with it because we're getting hosed at the pumps. I will continue to pay attention to things like power, looks, AND fuel economy. Because I have to.

Now get me a beer
