So we were coming back from a local car show with my dad's t-bird and we stopped at auto zone to get a few things when some normal lightning and thundering was going on, we drove down the street to put gas in the car at sunoco when the winds stared increasing dramaticly to the point where the street lights were flipping up at 90* angles and rocking the car and felt like it was gonna flip, then it started picking up more speed and blowing all the construction signs across the road and what not, then all of sudden just inches away from us was a transformer and then lightning struck it first by us and everything went out in just a heart beat, the electrical current from the lightning created a charge so big that it set several resturant signs to go up in flames, so we quickly hopped in the car and got out as fast as possible with winds blowing atleast 75mph knocking down trees and debree left an right and lightning is just striking everywhere, we get on a backroad a fast route to get home and as we were passing under a transformer lightning struck it and immediatly fried it and caused a tree that it was near to catch flames, now i called the police to report the fire and just a few more blocks down the street while im still on the phone with the dispatcher it happened again except this one was worse, we were directly under it when it blasted the transformer and set another tree on fire and kept arcing with another electrical current and caused the tree to go up fast and i told the dispatcher immedialty then while were still going down the road everything went pitch black again and the fire went out for a second then went up in a big bang again taking the whole tree with it, as im looking behind me watching it as the fire dept. drove by me i was at another intersection when the gas station next to me was struck and everything went black and couldnt see shit, the force of the rain was so great it was pointless to have windshield wipers, now our house was just up the street when we saw lightning strike near it and quickly raced home to see if there was no fire and as were going past lightning struck again near the same spot but took out another transformer and dropped sparks to the ground, so we qucikly got inside the house and flipped off the main breaker because this was obvioulsy an electrical storm like doppler predicted, so now that everything is off we look inside and just see lightning striking everywhere around us and lighting up everything so bright you couldnt see what was in front of you, and the bang of light was so great it rattled stuff off shelves and what not.

and from then on it started to die down and became a bit calm as it headed north north east towards maine.

so anyone close to there be prepared because this was one nasty storm.

that storm just missed us, it hit the amish areas and went northeast into nyc

i don't mean to laugh, but we got it pretty good here, and the storm we had was nothing compared to the one the amish guys had
