Scariest thing of my life

so yesterday I had a head ache for A while. No big deal. So dad and Iare eating dinner, and I'm having troubles with my eyes. Turns out I just couldn't focus at first. But then I started loosing perfial vision. Stars and lights were just flashing in my right eye. I told my dad, and we went straight to the eye doctor. We were not goingto mess around with it, dad has had 7 detatched retina surgeries and what not in the last year. So we got the doctor there after calling the emergency number. By that time I could barely see out of that eye. All is gettingbetter now, still have a spinning head, but I have vision back, its just blurry. Getting better. Just would like to say that loosing my vision for only a night has got to be the scariest thing ever en my life, after seeing what my dad goes through. Just taught me a lesson to never take anything for granted...

Migranes suck... I suffer from cronic headaches, my dad and my sister both get migranes... luckily we have like 3 bottles of ibuprofen and Naproxen here.

well if that's a mograin then have them nearly everyday. What the dr is telling me is its sinus related. I just took a nap and I have all my vision back now. Still have a headache though.

But I got to tell yu, its hard to go to sleep not knowing if you will ever see out of an eye again. Never take it for granted, and always wear safety glasses and sun glasses. Guess I got to find my oaklies...

I got my first migraine at about age 33, 6 years ago. I recall I had had a normal headache one evening, while in the truck on the road. My shift was over, my co-driver took over, and I went to sleep. I woke up around 4 am to take over again, feeling fine, just tired as usual from trying to sleep in a bouncing Mack truck. Grabbed my morning coffee, and off I went. I was about 30 miles from the Canadian border on I-94, driving in to the sunrise. All of a sudden I lost my peripheral vision. Then I saw like dancing spots of light. Just as I arrived at the yard, my head was ready to explode. Fortunately it was the end of the week. I wound up crashing in the truck at the yard for 4 hours before I could drive home, and even then I felt like I had been run over by a truck....just wiped out.

Come to find out I had just experienced my first migraine.

A couple times a year. I keep a bottle of Migraine specific headache pills with me at all times. Excedrins I think. And drinking a lot of coffee seems to help me as well.
