New Balance FTMFW...
I dont support them out, but I use them for working out and running... But if you go to any sporting good store, you can get a good pair for $40-$50. So at that price you can pick a pair up for just working out. -- I always have like sauconys though... I would buy a pair of the NBs and a pair of sauconys and you will still be under $100.

They are good for something to wear throughout the day, but I used to get shin splints real bad running in them...

Simply telling you that one brand is better than another would be doing you an injustice -- all shoe manufacturers create 3 basic types of running shoes based on your personal footstrike and gait -- "motion control" shoes if you're a pronator (you have low arches), "neutral/cushioned" for someone with normal arches, and "stability" for runners who supinate (have high arches). So your best bet would be to maybe do some research on which shoes by each manufacturer is appropriate for your foot type, and then you can just pick from those based on which look the best, fit the best, or everyone recommends.
I've had probably 15 pairs in a row now of the Nike Air Structure Triax, which is a motion control shoe, due to my low arches, and they have been amazing. And this is coming from a guy who has run more than a handful of marathons. Heed this advice: don't buy shoes based on looks or price first, buy the shoe based that's right for your foot. |

I wear these when I kayak ( since there is not much room in the nose of a kayak they work well ), they are extreemly comfortable...

+1 Just so you know Im credible and not someone guessing... I hold the High jump record in the State of Ohio (High school) and ran a shit load of miles. Having said that, the dude above hit it right on the button. Go try them on. Some shoe makers are more for flat wide feet and others long and narrow. Nike fit me well because I had a narrow foot with a high arch. I couldnt wear anything else because they did not fit right. Most major makers have at least one style that looks good. If style is that important, buy 2 pairs. One for pimpin in and the other for your workouts. But dont buy the pimpin pair over a pair that fits right and work in them. Youll fuc* up your feet, back, knees, ankles, hips, arches etc etc. |

Try asics running shoes, they are running shoes for serious running.
