In the spirit of this website....

Its really cool that I won StangGts contest. Some of you know how badly I'd love to have tuner or a nitros kit. Like everyone here, I'm always shopping around looking at different upgrades. I like to research products and post questions to debate the "validity" of HP claims and stuff like that. Its so much fun thinking about all the awesome things that can be done to my little V-6 to make it faster, louder, better handling or just plain better looking. Believe me, I want to do something like that so bad!!!!!

But here's the problem I have. Hear me out with this because it matters.

Over the last couple months there have been more than a dozen posts about members getting laid off or losing their jobs. Some of you know that I recently got "shit canned" after many years of hard work and dedication. It sucks. It still sucks and will suck for some time into the future. In fact, I had a great job all set up and the company ultimately sold out before I could even start so I'm back into the unknown of job hunting. It has been harder for me lately to make my bills than anyone could imagine. I've been telling my kids "no" way too much lately for simple stuff like going to the movies and even just getting a ride to their friends house.

So how selfish would it be for me to buy a nitros system right now? When their are guys/gals here that are in my same situation and have to worry about not even having the money to buy a tire if one blows out. There are people who would have to let their beloved cars sit in the driveway because they dont have the cash to replace something as cheap as a fuel filter. Well, thats not what the spirit of this site is about... not in my opinion.

So this is what I will do. Only with Stangs approval.
I need back brakes really bad. When I stop it sounds like my Nun from grade school scratching her fingernails across a chalkboard. It drives me nuts! Money is crappy for me right now and I have to be real carefull. Having said that, I will ask that maybe Stang can find me some brakes. I dont need nothing fancy as my Mustang allows me to go and apply for jobs and that is the most important thing right now. In fact, I've been driving it as little as possible because I dont want to make the situation any more expensive to fix.

As much as I would love a tuner, I just can't do it knowing how tough it is for some other members right now. If its ok with Stang, I will gladly accept the prize of "brakes" and the rest can go towards an emergency fund for anyone who runs into trouble. Stang can have the last say in who can have it depending on how he chooses. It should go to someone that NEEDS it, not to someone that blew an engine racing a Prelude or someone that wants to upgrade something. I think it should go to a person that needs the part to keep their job or keep their car safe. Someones job, safety, family, kids or well being are way more important than my little desire to have a "fast" car. I see myself as a true "MM'er" and this is what our culture is about.

This is all up to Stang so lets see what he says.

haha the part that caught my interest was the dad saying no to movies and rides .. just keep your head up and good things will happen to people like you . that work hard and puts there family first.

Thats the most stand-up, unselfish thing I have ever witnessed bro. But, knowing you the way I do, I have to say its not that surprising.

my car's been having this problem lately.. when i stomp the gas, it just seems real slow.. it feels like it only has like 225hp..

and when i hit like 3,000RPM, my nitrous never kicks in..
