Global warming
yea just thought i share some info that one of my teachers from school was telln us about that made alot of sense.
Honestly i don't think Global warmin is real i think its a hoax. Some kid was talking about how like Fossil fuels coal etc. are causing global warming so he starts talking to us about it and said like " the last ice age was like roughly 11,000 years ago or so right and the earth has been heating up slowly and slowly ever since right, and we all said yes. So he countinued saying that do you guys really belieave for the amount of time we have been using fossil fuels and the very small fraction of Co2 we put into the atmosphere in the past 100 years is causes global warming to all of a sudden bitch slap us. He also went on saying that it also has to do the way our earth's orbit is goin around the sun and how our planet sometimes gets closer to the sun and farther away during the earths life as it orbits the sun. Last 2 things he said was the tectonic plates like the iron magnetic plates underneath the pole's move and cause the poles to move as well. Last thing is our cars and factories are alot cleaner then they ever were in the past century. Point he was trying to make was our planet heats up the ice melts then we go into an ice age then the planet heats up again it just a natural cycle of our planet. i mean just makes sense to me.

seems like it. I think the arguement is that we are just throwing off this rotation, speeding the "heating up" part.
i dunno. |

I've written on this before so here it is:
The earth is warming. True. However, humans are NOT the cause of it. The earth's temperature has fluctuated for millions of years, we just happen to be in a higher temperature swing right now. So many people are completely ignorant of the facts, it's ridiculous. Al Gore's movie just increased national tension based on skewed graphs and political propaganda. Correlation does not imply causation. In one of Gore's graphs, he compares CO2 emissions with global temperature. While at first glance, they may seem eerily similar, if you take a closer look, you will notice that in many cases, global temperature starts increasing BEFORE CO2 emissions. You could do the same thing with pirates: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...SM_Pirates.png that's just the first graph I found. If you don't want to follow the link then I will explain the graph for you, basically it shows the number of pirates going down while global temperature increases. It is a skewed graph where the number of pirates goes from 35,000 up to 45,000 then down to 20,000 then 15,000 then 5000 then 400 then 17. While at first glance, this graph might show that less pirates=higher temperature, it instead proves my earlier point that correlation does not imply causation, as I hope that people here are educated enough to know that pirates have little effect on the environment. The fact of the matter is this, while the increase of cars has raised CO2 emissions, the overall effect on the environment is so minuscule compared to other factors to make it barely noticeable. The number one thing that lets out "green house gases" is the ocean, what with it's millions of plants (seaweed) in the ocean and countless underwater volcanoes emitting gases non-stop, 24/7. Opinion time. I hate how the U.S. is always the scape goat. China contributes so much more pollution than us, but do they get chastised as much as us? Hell no. |
