Cleaned the NPI motor... And im going to try it... I pulled the drain plugs out of the block and flushed it with water and a wire... Got the water to run clean... Lots of crap was in there. Anyway geting the timing chains and everything timing wise boiled right now. Will have the engine ready to drop in place in a few hours!!
I hope i might beable to get it in there by tonight. Run the 150 shot and call it a day for a while

got the Crown Vic motor all cleaned up after some work... New head gaskets for the nitrous hits... and ARP head studs...
175 shot FTW anyway here are some pictures... Will have it back in the car tommorow hopefully running. I have to get my coil over kit on and the front suspension back in too... Primered block, painted valve covers and what not... The engine would be completely assembled tonight but, couldnt find my RTV black and the parts stores were closed by then. Anyway hoping to make a few shake down passes Wedsday and possibly use the bottle... we will see. ![]() ![]()

Well my buddy jeff named the motor "Old Rusty" so im going to get some decals for the valve covers for it...
But here she is as she sits now. Had to take the timing cover off after we put it on with the valve covers on because i forgot to put the crankshaft positioning sensor gear back in... Wasnt able to drop the engine in the car because i couldnt get ahold of a cherry picker... hopefully wedsday and if not then Friday. But the car will be done when the car is done... To do list... 255 Fuel Pump install drop engine in place, wire up, put tranny back in put new ball joints in put the UPR coilover kit back together put steering back on the K member put up K member Change the Oil Twice swap the spindles on the good a arms and other small stuff... she should look good and run decent when im done. PI cams will go in soon. ![]() ![]() The Mechanics at work... Im the tall skinny one. Gerrit is the one with the air nozzle in his ear, and Brad is the Chevy man.

Just for any noobies or anyone not familiar with these cars: Changing set ups and not getting tuned can destroy your motor. It is ill-advised to run a motor at WOT for any period of time on a modified motor and stock computer. I'm not necessarily talking to you , Matt, but we don't want to get people thinking that this way is the right way. We (all of us on MM) have ruined enough engines from half-assing things in the past.....

My motor did not go because of a tune. Once I tore it down, I relieze what happened.
Before I was going to spray on that setup, I was going to get tuned. But this NPI with A 150 shot will not be tuned...I do not think its going to be nessieary flame me all you want, but I would have known on the oefinal setup of the car needed tuned.

It is sad to hear that you haven't learned anything from your past failures. I am not flaming at all. I just want to give out accurate information. Suggesting that a heads/cam/PI swap onto an NPI shortblock and stock computer doesn't need a tune is uneducated at best. Also, a 150 shot on that same tune is going to be death to your motor. But, hey, what do I know?

I find it amazing... The car was running fine. barely any issues but the rev limiter was too low and the idle speed was a hair low. The plugs looked great. The motor failed because of other issues. That I brought upon my self. I could see improvements with a tune, more power and what not, infact i was scheduled for a tune the next week after the shit blew. But the way the thing ran was great, and really had no issues without a tune, the plugs show that, as well as the top of the pistons...
The new motor will not be tuned immedtatly. Once i have the PI cams in there I may tune. It depends on how it runs too. The tune is critical agreed. But i only need this motor to last 3 months anyway. Why waste 750 bucks?

I completely see your point. I am just pointing out the need for a tune to others who might link to this thread or visit the site in search of information for their own build.

Didnt get as much work done as I wanted today. But after work and what not we didnt get started til about 6:30 and stoped around 9:00. Anyway, got the engine all together, except the starter, big whoop, two bolts and she is on tommorow.
![]() ![]() Our Favorite Motto... ![]() "if you can't Duck it, Fuck It" Tranny is on, engine has all parts on it and is ready to drop in the car tommorow morning. We also named the racing "team" Dewski Racing We will have shirts made up in a few weeks and stickers on all of our cars. Reason for Dewski racing is because what we call Mountian Dew, which is dewski. This is what we have been drinking the last week. Most of them are empty....

Too late to spray the tranny with some silver...
Anyway old rusty is in the beast. So is the tranny... Coilover kit is on and just need to put the drivers side header on, K member, spindles on the new a arms, and put the wiring back in on the engine. Should be up and running tommrow, but who knows right? Anyway, here are the pictures. Too bad i have to go to work now, because i could finish up tonight.... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() And this is the dirt and dust from the few months it has sat here...
