Matt I love reading your stories bro. It reminds me of all the wrenching and fun I had with muscle cars when I was your age. Don't let the problems get to you too much- I promise you when you're older you will look back on these times with fondness man.

And if it hasn't been mentioned, the way to properly fill the manual tranny is to fill her up until it just starts trickling out of the fill plug that is on the side of the transmission.

Thanks man... its amazing to have kids at high school scared to talk shit to your face, but i hear the rumors all the time about the "cars" that are faster... I dont care if they are faster, but "mommy and daddy" didnt pay for mine, and the "pros" didnt wrench on it...

My buddies and keep pondering this. In all honesty, how many kids this age can lead a group of kids that have enver touched a wrench before to turn a car around completely in 3 weeks never had pulling an engine before or even playing with a tranny. My grandmas are scared to ride in it, and my mom wont even get near it seems like. But seriously when kids i dont even know come up to me and ask me about the car, and how to fix theirs, its almost scary. Im just fortunate to have saved when i was young and worked hard mowing lawns to be where i am now... Not to mention having my parents support my "addiction" but not fund it, and having 3 friends that will come and wrench on the car at any time.

BTW guys, i couldnt have done much of this stuff, with out the support of you guys.

matt it is very cool what you are doing dont get me wrong. but your not the only one who is 16 who wrenched on their own cars man.. come off your high horse a little bit...and some people (me) just cause my dad bought my car doesnt mean i dont deserve it.. we do all the work on it ourselves and I KNOW my car isnt even close to fast so i can totally relate to those "people talking" that you mentioned...

i know how you feel about ppl asking you for advise. i have plenty of friends that dont know jack about cars and they all think im some mechanic god, when in reality im just a weekend warrior who knows how to look things up and ask the right ppl. i think the biggest thing that seperates you from other ppl ur ages is ur not affraid to just dive in and see what happens. im sure if u ask other ppl what they would do if the motor in thier prized car blew up, theyd prolly cry, where as u just say oh well, gives me an excuse to rebulid it better
