so im finally done dealing with the insurance company well still need to get letter to fill out mail back and get a check but yea. they totaled my car out for fucking hail damage so yea obviously im keeping my car so after all is said and done at least their gona pay it off so that frees up a car payment a month. so now im on the search for a new car dont know if its going to be another stang or not but we will see

if he had to replace more then the hood, most likely....

the car is only worth about 3k-4k to insurance companies

the car was valued at 5000 but missouri law says if its over 60% of the value damaged then its considered totaled. and well they were goign to replace the hood the trunk the winddhield and the rest was paintless dent repair. so now its goign to have a salvage title which blows but im going to get the windshield fixed and maybe a new hood that way i can get a little more out of her on a trade

yup simply because it would cost them too much to fix it so instead of spending 3500 to fix it theyr going to pay me 5000 to total it out make some sense out of that. well after the buy back and deductible and the bank gets their cut ill keep about a grand but yea.

Similiar situation happened to me a few years back. Insurance wouldn't pay enough to fix it completely or pay it off. I had to basically buy it from them and have the work done out of pocket, so to speak. My title stayed clean. I had American Family for that little diddy. I hate the. Anyway, yeah, I live in MO also. I know all too well that 60% rule.

I think you could get alot done with a "G". Salvage yards, craighlist, e-bay, etc.
I have a family friend that owns a body shop up here. If you're even feelin' the urge to road trip, I could try setting something up for ya....

I also have a friend that works in a shop that makes resto-mods/Elanor clones. He's the paint/body guy. Again, I could try somethin'...

If you were to, hypothetically, sell it "as is", how much, hypothetically, would you ask?

well the one offer i got from a guy was as it sits 2500 so i dont know ill prolly trade it in or sell it for just enough to make a down payment on something else
