Dude, I for one was certainly not busting your balls. Just telling you that if it were me, I wouldn't be so overzealous as to hop into a marriage with a woman who's going through so much. There's a thing called physiological dependency, and I hope you're not stuck in such a relationship simply for the sake of "coupling" (coupling is a theory where everyone, no matter what their situation in life may be, wishes to be with another for the sake of self-sufficiency, loosely put into my own words but you get the drift).

Don't listen to these guys and drop her. If you care about her like you say that would be pretty harsh on your emotions to just end it cold turkey. But I would advise you to turn it down a notch. Now I'm not implying that you're rushing things, but marriage is certainly not something you want to rush into (unless you plan to rush out of it shortly thereafter).

Zip, I probably read ur post10 or more times, stared at it for a good 20 minutes just letting it sink in...

Alot of what u said in that lil middle paragraph was as close to being on the nail a canadian trucker can get without actually getting inside my head..... but a lot of my reasons for making this decision actually stemmed from past conversations with u.

She's young, and she's made some real bad decisions in her life, and now she's had to come to terms with them. It's not like i went in there, and she begged me to marry her. We talked about her being pregnant, about being clean, and about what i wanted from her, and she wanted from me.

This isn't Rags picks up girl from jail and gets down on 1 knee.

I've been down this road with her before, some of u do know exactly what happened, but some of u don't. I fucked it up the first time hardcore. She was clean 4 months, and like an idiot i went out and got drugs one night because i wanted to get all fucked up and have fun with my GF....... so now we've got 2 ex drug abbusers 1 4 months clean, and the other 18months sitting in a room and i don't need to fill u in on the rest. 2 months later i woke up one day, and saw i had become exactly what i worked so hard to overcome. But i did it once....... i knew i could do it again..... but it was already to late for her.

we had both turned into complete tools and she wanted nothing to do with me once she realized saw what i had become. She may have had a drug problem earlier, but it was nothing compared to what went on in the 2 months i relapsed with her. So about 3 weeks into me coming to my senses, she left, because she wasn't strong enough.

and honestly i don't blame her. I remember everytime who wanted to get the drugs after i convinced her it was ok the 1 time. me. I reopened the door for her..... and I couldn't look myself in the mirror if i didn't take the blame thats rightfully mine.

karma's a bitch my friend. and i got burned.

Now we both have the oppurtunity to prove to eachother that we do in fact deserve eachother. This is Rags goes out into the real world, gets his own place, a full time job, and stop living the....... fill in the blank .... that i've been for the last 2 years. When she gets out, she goes straight to work. She's not just being released, but put on NYS probation which insists ur stay drug free and maintain a job if not going to school.

As of right now, when she gets out and gets a job where going to get a place together, and where going to give it another shot.

Just because I think it may be a mistake doesn't mean I wish either of you ill will. In fact I'll be happy for you if you both manage to move forward, make a life together and find some happiness.

Just remember something though Dan. What you are about to embark on takes a great deal of strength. And one must be happy with ones self first and completely and utterly confident, almost to the point of arrogance, before they can truly help someone who needs help finding their path in life.

dont let anyone discourage you rags, be thankful they care enough to warn you of what could happen, but to me you are well aware of what could happen, and no one knows what will happen...if you truely wanna turn your life around, and you wanna help her turn her life around, i think thats awesome...i mean people do rotten things, and many people keep doing rotten things, but theres a point where people can change, and if no one is willing to care and keep trying, there will always be rotten people...its a long, tough road but possible to travel...but caring enough to want to help her and yourself is a great first step, cause what is giving up gonna get you? no where, and in your case i really hope she'll truely appreciate what you are doing for her and wont screw you over again, but if things dont work out thats just life, but dont feel like you're wasting your time, because people can change, best of luck man

then she told me she's sorry, she's been lieing to me and stringing me along, and that were over. theres no chance, and never will be again. she said she couldn't live with herself doing this to me, and told me she still wanted me in her life, as a friend...
