Maybe the next specialty stang should be dubed "THE MANTIS"! Ok, maybe not, a mantis isn't too fast. Rare to find them around oregon, but they are pretty neat little (big) insects.

that one was pretty small the video mase him look big. he was only about 2.5" long. but he ate a spider the size of him.

that's pretty awesome, man.. my g/fs dad was telling us stories one night about a pet tarantula that he had in college.. kinda similar with the eating of a lot of different stuff

Ive kept them as pets before and they live for a couple years.You can even order certain breeds to keep as pets. Wich reminds me I may order one for my kid. He will get a real kick out of it.

Are june bugs the same as lightning bugs? I caught a 5 inch wolf spider on the side of my house just a few days ago. I simply took it to the edge of the woods and let it go...after showing all the kids in the neighborhood of course.next time I will snap a shot. Aren't the praying mantis' protected as endangered insects? I swear I was told that as a kid and it just stuck with me. Wonder now if its true. Put a disclaimer next time on your vidio just incase. "NO Mantis were harmed during this filming". lol
