fuel filter/ pump question

if you change the fuel filter in a dodge durango (which is alsot in side the tank) theres no reason why you would HAVE to change the pump as well correct???

my firneds been needing to have his filter changed and its in his pump and was told like 200 bucks for it all

i just changed the pump and filter in a camaro so i know i can drop his tank to and the filter is only like 35 bucks online

You can change just the filter as far as I know. I never changed mine in the Durango but I dont see why you'd need to change the pump as well.

and you have a 98-02 durango with the filter inside the tank?

so its safe to say that i can easily drop the tank and do his filter for him while keeping his stock pump and the filter will only cost like 30-40 bucks?

On Dodge's its a one-piece design. They got retarded and made the pump/filter a single unit.
I know. A buddy of mine had a Durango and a Ram 1500.

Mines an 06. I've never changed it but you should be able to.

Dropping the tank sucks balls for any reason. Shizzizle... the filter is $40! Ouch, when wifey's filter go's, I'm selling the damn thing. I think mine was like $8 for the Mustang.

Ya, from HBs post it looks like all one piece. That explains the 40 dollar price tag. Its probably not that hard once you get the tank down bit IDK since Ive never done it.

Yeah, I have an '06 Dodge Dakota (company truck), anyways the guy who drove it before me had something put in the tank, and it clogged the filter, and burned the pump up. It sucked.
