Fixing rubber?

Does anyone know if a rubber hose can be "welded?" I was thinking of trying to heat up around the edges of a slice on a rubber hose and try to meld it together. Anyone successfully done this before? If it cant be done, I was thinking of using some gorilla glue to hold it and them some tape.

If I am not mistaken, the slice is on the discharge side of the surge valve, but it would be releasing air into the atmosphere, which I have read is bad as it already is registered through the MAF. I guess I can't really screw it up any more. I just dont want to put a few rolls of tape around it and "hope" it holds.

Yeap, I hear ya. I'll make some calls, and make some things happen and see if you can actually "fix" that

I would have to agree this would be the safest way if you can get the right size. That stuffs only a few bucks at most.

C- try even like a hardware store nearby. I know Home Depot and Ace carry things like that.

Just measure the Circumference before you leave

LOL....How did I knw this thread was going to take this route? Probably when I started using the word "Hose!"

Anyway, My wife rocks. Had her measure my hose! Its a mere 1-1/2" diameter hose. The cut is 2".

I am going to check the hardware stores. Since the slice runs on an angle with the hose, I will probably need to get an extension piece as well. I was thinking of using some flexible rubber hose/tubing that I can put around it and clamp it.....like a condom....a-holes! lol
