its a great thing. is really good for the most part. it just lacks sum of the typical things you should want in a phone i think.

Dude...i'm certain there is speakerphone. Click the phone icon then make a call. When in the call there is a little box with 6 buttons and one of them is speakerphone (i think its the bottom right)

oh wait actually i think i remember it did now. it was just quiet. its been a while sorry. i got it like last september and returned it a week later. i remember it had it, but i never used it cuz i couldnt hear shit

There's no multimedia messaging, the speaker and mike are supposed to suck, and the #1 thing that's retarded and pisses me off

You can't develop for it, because apple is so slow on releasing a development kit.

I'll stick to my PDA phone, which has all the things the apple has, and more, plus I can develop for it, plus I can surf the web on it without using my bandwidth if i'm near a wireless access point, plus its speaker is loud, plus it was cheaper, at least than the gen 1 at the time.

Ummm...Yeah you can develop for the iPhone. I have made many apps that work for iPhone

And also if your near an access point it will use wi-fi instead. and it cost more than your pda because its multi-touch screen and its a full iPod. Not just a music player, but a full ipod built in. I have nothing on the quiet speaker though...not really much of one to use speakerphone...

ok well i have had 2 pocket pc phones 1 pda (had a 624 mhz processor) and 4 regular phones and by far this thing is the best I have downloaded numerous applications from the app store for free the speaker is way loud and the mic works good. One reason why I love my iphone is while i was waiting for a friend i pulled out my iphone and watched top gear off youtube (the vantage roadster review

) and i had to turn it down cuz it was so loud and I got the white because I hate Obama
