oil change turns into oil disaster

so i decided to change the oil in my camaro today to get it ready for the track on thursday.... i jacked it up... drain oil, took off oil filter... put oil bolt back on... put new oil filter and added oil...... i go to turn the car and immediately my light for check gauges come one, oil pressure is at 0... i look over i see a puddle under my car getting huge... my car dumped all the oil ... all 6 quarts of oil get dumped on my drive way... my mom and dad immediately come outside and shout some words over my way, i got so mad i told both of them to shut up and i'll take care of it...this sucks it really bummed me out.....

turns out the reason was the oil filter i put in was the wrong one, it was the one i got handed to from autozone, never even check it...im so stupid!!!... anyways i called my friend that works there and said to take everything back and he'll hook it up.. thank god... fully synthetic oil is expensive...anyways this has ruined my day!

cliffs:
added oil
car dumps oil
big oil spill in driveway
shouting match between me and parents
i win shouting match but still have a car with no oil and have no car for today

go buy some kitty litter and put it over the oil on the driveway. it will help soak up all the oil. thats what we do at the dealership. then we wash the floor afterwards but you have cement so i dont know how you will clean that, but put some kitty litter down on it.

I thought from those commercials you can run your car on synthetic oil for over 100000 miles after draining all the oil out of it!

ive done that though, well.. not checked.. and i took the old filter out and reached up to put the new one in and it wouldnt even screw onto it. i was like.. wtf..... looked at the box and it was the wrong one they gave me.. so i had to bum my grannys rav4 and go back since my oil was already drained. and swap them suckas out.. . always check. you think you dont need to bc they hand it to you.. but they make mistakes just like we do.. i always TRY to check.. but sometimes i forget and get lucky
