another gas discussion?

generals and basics:

crude oil is cheap.

it costs alot to turn oil into gasoline.

america has a small amount of refinaries because of the damage it does to the enviroment.

gas is expensive because we have a small amount of refinaries.

more refinaries=more production of gas= lower gas prices.

more refinaries also equal a poor enviroment.

ever wonder why people in china wear those masks?

there is a bigger picture here people. instead of bitching like the rest of the american sheeple. do something. if you cant then shut up.

=)

its like not voting at all and bitching about the president.

1: you have no right to
2: you have no brain.

p.s. fuck you.

p.s.s. dont take this personal. this isnt about you.

p.s.s.s. dont mind me, im just losing my mind in iraq

ummmm refineries today in america if we built new ones would be how would i say this cleaner than the ones we had in the 1970s and they would be cleaner than the ones in China cause they have no emissions laws, same w/ russia and most of the world. So really if we built new refineries here in the states they would have very very little to no impact on the enviorment.

AMEN to this. But anymore it's not even the tree huggers. In recent poles a vast majority or people are now in favor of drilling off shore and in Alaska. This includes people who used to be against it. It's the Democrats in congress that continue to block the bill to allow drilling. It's funny how we have people in congress (who don't do hardly ANY driving) determine how to manage gas.

In the first quarter of 2008, the US demand for oil FELL 3%. Meaning, a 2% difference isn't going to make the US independent of foreign oil.

Now think about this...If all equipment in the US improved 2% efficiency and demand remained constant (demand normally grows by about 2%/year), we would only use 2% less oil than we currently do. The US produces ~9 million barrels/day and imports ~11 million barrels/day (this is TOTAL and not just for vehicles). Now, a 2% reduction in usage means instead of using ~20 million barrels/day we will use 19.6 million barrels/day. If you say half the oil imported is used for vehicles (which is a very high estimate) then your 2% more efficiency will reduce the US oil consumption to 19.8 million barrels/day. That's a 0.2 million barrels/day savings.
Now tell me how reducing our imports from ~11 million barrels/day to 10.8 million barrels/day is freeing out foreign dependancy!!??!?!!?!

Gas bubble is going to burst. There is my prediction. You seen it here first!

Gas will be $2.90 per gallon by October 15th. BANK ON IT!

It will rise back to $3.25 through Christmas.

It will remain steady through the rest of winter and into spring.

Next summer it will average at $3.10 per gallon.

After Novembers election, the price will actually increase again slightly and then retreat by that spring to a 3 year low of $2.25 per gallon.

There you have it!
Now, all you speculators can likymynuts and quit speculating because obviously, my crystal ball is telling you the price per barrel of light sweet crude is dropping.
