What ever happened to paying for your own car

I was talking to a kid that had a 97 gt like mine with all kinds of things done to it supposed 500hp car and he says ya my mom is supposed to be buying me a turbo when she gets her raise but she keeps puting me off. My jaw droped i had to turn around and walk away. My 86 I bought off my dad for $2,500 and i paid him $2000 and on my graduation he gave the car to me and said don,t worry about the $500i wanted to pay him anyway i paid $300 more and then put $800 tranny it it so i never did pay him the $200. It may be mainly stock but it is mine and i paid for it. I paid cash for my 97 gt out of my money and cash for my 92 f150 why do people spoil there kids to be little bitches like this i know alot of you have gotten there cars for free so lets here why you would take this?

my parents helped me get a job when i turned 14 and i worked all summer and the summer when i was 15 , and i saved almost all of the money to buy my first car ( a 1970 shortbed truck ) i loved that truck and it was all the better since i paid for it myself .

i might not have the nicest stuff but it's all mine and it's all paid for ( by me )

1. You don't appreciate what you parents worked hard to buy you, you should be ashamed of yourself. You shouldn't even think about selling/trading it in because they worked hard for it and you complain about it but how much money have you put into it?

2. You will never sell that car for 20k, especially with termies going for that much.

I have recieved help for a couple cars but they were payed back in full every time. Its getting kinda rediculous (sp) IMO. I would love to build a car with my kid when I have one but I dont wanna just give it to him ya know. Better be a while off anyways lol.

A lot of it comes down to the parents. The parents are the ones spoiling their kids, the kids do not spoil themselves, that's impossible. I am in MASSIVE debt to pay for my car, but it is a car almost no one has at my age. My parents agreed to let me use their credit as a cosigner so I could get my loan.

Also, you can't hate kids that have nice things....after all, they didnt buy them, their parents did and it is their choice. Jealousy will only get you so far in life. I recommend you worry about what you have and not what others have.

1) They don't care... my dad told me I could do what I want with it... he bought it for me cause I became a eagle scout which was something he couldn't do when he was a kid, my dad could buy a sports car for himself, but doesn't want to cause he's in the mid life crysis age... I haven't put a single dime on the car other than the short throw that I'm selling (lost 100 bucks on that buy) and the reason I haven't put another dime into the car is cause a polished turd is still a turd.

2) 2005 are selling for 21K. Termis are a real rarity here, so much so that I've never seen one and a 99 cobra is selling for 15K
