So ya'll helped me out on some back packing tips a while back...we just returned from our trek with the Boy Scouts of America on Sunday evening. Here are a few of my favorite pics from the event:

Mama, answer me this... Did you have any Keewanaw Brewery Pick Axe Blonde Ale? That is my absolute favorite beer. Also, I'm happy that somebody else appreciates the beauty of The U.P. Lake Superior is amazing I love that lake. I have always wanted to go to Isle Royale. I will make it there someday. I don't really have an excuse, since I'm only 7hrs away.

Yes, how the f**k can anybody not know where the greatest of the great lakes is located? It separates MI from Canada.

I know where lake superior is just never heard of Isle Royale.

It was incredibly relaxing - 45 lbs on my back for a week but it only took 6 hours at work to put a krick in my neck though.

We had to filter all of our own water which was actually kind of cool. Lake Superior is so clean though...in a pinch you'd be fine but they recommend filtering anyway. Couldn't believe the absolute serenity of that island.

It's a 3 hour ferry ride from Copper Harbor - Take your Dramamine if you get motion sickness.

Jake - you gotta go man. Plain and simple. To quote one of the rangers - "This island speaks to your soul." He couldn't have said it better

Yeah - you can't go wrong for rest and relaxation in the YOOP.

Oh...and we did have that Pick Axe before but not up there...it was pretty good!

I would recommend it highly - start planning at least 9 months in advance - have to buy your ticket 6 months before hand for the ferry. They only take so many people at a time...which makes it very quiet - very remote. Heaven on Earth
