for mine i used 2..it covered the 94-95 style lights and third brake light and had a lil left over...on his jetta he wanted em dark so i used 3 cans on his...about the same size as the new edge tails

nah wetsanding just takes away the top like half coat i guess you could call it..all the rough spots and such...i mean ya if you wet sand the hell out of it your gonna take some off haha...i used 2000 grit before i painted ours...then the same after the first two good coats then lightly at the very end after it was completely cured....came out smooth as hell///then i used a light polishing compound to take away the minor scratches from the wetsanding

ya there is quite a bit of clear on mine, so i wouldnt be taking any paint off

BINGO! We have a winner. I've done this to many tail lights in the past. Apply niteshade then wetsand w/ 2000 grit. Clear and wetsand sand w/ 200 grit. Then polish w/ a good polishing compound and wax them to finish. It should look amazing when you're finished. Maybe I'll do a how to once my niteshade comes in and I do the ones on my Mustang.

no dude to save you trouble spray Duplicolor Clear Coat on it. Ive done many of my friends taillights including mine with the same nightshades tint spray. Spray 3-4 coats of clear coat and your good to go! Its also probably called Duplicolor truck and suv clear coat.
