Coming back from my girlfriends I was doing 60mph and hit a deer. Both bags deployed and absolutley scared the ship out of me. I pulled the car into the ditch and put on my four way flashers getting out I realized what had happened(I didnt really see the deer untill it hit). I pushed the now dead deer into the ditch. I went to look for my phone to call someone and I could not find it so I waved people down and called all the need to be called people. Well the insurance company wants to total it because the bags deployed. I have a 94 mustang and the insurance guys tells me they dont make those airbags anymore or the sensors and used ones cost like 2 grand. All the damage was a front bumper, right front fender, headlights, windshield, hood, and that nice little pony in the grill was gone. I saying goodbye to it tommmorw as I clean it out

My parents are putting me in a honda because I'm starting college and I will be driving alot more. Not that great of a oppertunity

Make sure that you know the retail value of the car (in perfect shape) that is what the insurance company MUST pay. You are also entitled to the tax you paid on the car if it is loan is still active. Don't let them tell you otherwise. Been there and done that.

Man that sucks terribly dude, but mabye you'll get another 'stang someday.

How much are they saying it'll cost to repair? When they fixed mine it was a little under $3000 in labor, i think. Have you thought about repairing it yourself or anything?

And our cars must look about the same lol and i was on the way TO my girlfriends. I got lucky though and only one of my sensors was tripped.

Damn that sucks, those SOBs can come out of nowhere.

As far as airbags go... I was browsing on ebay a few months ago and saw a drivers side airbag with harness and sensor for a 91 mustang for $5.00. I guess the insurance company doesn't want to buy used stuff. Probably a big liability issue. One of my friends had an old Ford truck.. he was about to park somewhere and something started smoking in the steering column, he was like WTF and looked closer and the damn airbag deployed in his face. Airbags suck.

I have seen on several different model cars, the geniuses designed the passenger airbag door to fly up and break the windshield so you have to replace the damn windshield too.
