08 Camaro "Official" Concept Photo's Leaked!

i love it. when it comes out, my mustang may get replaced? prolly just pissed a lot of you off huh. i dont want to get rid of the stang so it may just hve to move over in the garage. i thinks its a gorgous car and i love the look of the chopped top. i bet it will smoke the current production stang and run pretty close with the gt500. just my opinion.

Man and I thought the 05 stang looked like it had a 10 foot chin. Oh well, guess curves aren't what todays market is after.

im an fbody guy and im absolutely appauled at the new camaro i like the kids design better....i like the curves of the car, not the straight like crap thats on the car that was at the sema show......im very dissappointed as for the motor its going to be an ls2 motor 400bhp from what i read......t56 tranny

i dont know how you could be dissapointed with the motor. the gen IV engines are amazing. think about it.........a simple head/cam swap and your at 500 hp. try that with a stang. haha. doesnt work.anyways. i had a 99 trans am punched out to 422 and it was amazing everything built around the cam. it made 713 hp on motor alone and 903 on a 300 shot. i tell ya what it was a amzing motor.anyways done with my little rant. cya later!

I'm not saying stealing the concept pics is wrong, but how often are these pics leaked/stolen? Uhm, for almost every car made.

Personally, I like the look of the car, although I'll have to see it in person, because quite often a car looks vastly different once you actually see it.That being said, I doubt I would ever buy one, as being a GM it will no doubt not be able to come close to how relatively affordable the Mustang is.I read an interesting tidbit in last month's Motor Trend about how Dodge & GM were having problems meeting the target price for their Challenger & Camaro, and that in fact they couldn't come to within 5K of the Mustang's price.Dodge in fact, said they were likely to scrap the 6 cylinder version of the Challenger due to this fact.
GM was also rumored to have been considering scrapping the 6 cylinder version of the Camaro due to not being able to meet a price point.Sounds like both Dodge & GM will have trouble equaling the success of the Stang, let alone beating it, unless they can resolve these issues before they launch their respective cars.
So based on what I've seen, I would probably consider buying either of these cars, but not if they are 5,6, or 10 grand more than a comparable Mustang.

What I fear is the chebby (if they are not in chapter 11 by then) is going to give this damn thing like 400 HP base, and kick a$$ from there with options (I can see it now LT2 with 500 HP) and blow the doors off the Stang. You'll have to spend $45K on a Cobra just to keep up with a $28K base V8

uh and btw, a simple blower upgrade for a cobra, say stage 2. would stomp the shit out of the slowmaro... shit for 45k the cobra could be a TT
