restoring it through itunes normally fixes most problems. If not...1-800 MYAPPLE for tech support. That's about all I can offer with the info you gave, which wasn't anything.

I've dissasembled and replaced my headphonjack on my iPod, it's pretty easy... but I have the old style video, don't know if its the same precedure to open up the new ones as it is the old ones (plastic front, preassure fitted metal back)

i have a 20g ipod that wont turn on i bought it in 05 and it's just a music player not video, plastic front metal back. and i bought brand new in a mall in Dubai.

Could be a dead battery... My dads 20 gig wouldn't turn out, I oppened it, removed the battery for a while, then I reassembled it and left it charging for a day and it came back to life somehow... and its been chuggin along nicely ever since.

all it does is show me a battery with an exclamation point. Now before i get flamed please understand my sis had this since 2006 so im learning as i go along

i also tried the menu center button reset, the screen trurns off after about umm say 6-8 seconds and comes back on. to the battery exclamation point deal.

we used 2 screwdrivers. One real small one (like the kind for glasses) and then a regular sized one.

We just seperated the two pieces with the ssmall screwdriver just enough to get the big one in. Then CAREFULLY pryed it apart. Be very carefull when opening. There are ribbons inside that are connected to the HD/battery and shell. If you tear them, your fucked.

dead battery fo sure... if it works while connected to the charger, and won't hold the charge

nothing... mine gets hot sometimes... if its constantly accessing the HDD or passing 1000 songs into it.
