+1 to this... I know a few people who were given pretty nice cars, and I would never call them spoiled...

just because someone didn't pay for their car from their paycheck doesn't mean they didn't bust their ass for it... one of my friends was given his car as a gift from his parents because he was salutatorian of a large HS, also an eagle scout...(along with many other reasons). You can't tell me he didn't do any work to get that car...

I would probably buy my kids first car. Then after that and before he's 18 i would show him how to be responsible with his money and how to use it, so that way he wont be screwed when i kick him out lol

+1 completely agree...I didn't pay for my car at all. But i do bust my ass in school to get good grades

Thats true lol I almost bought a 01 gt at the dealership and my mom is like uhhh whatever then I relized I would kinda be setting myself up for large car payment that I didnt need so I didnt do it I scraped the paper. Im sure the sales guy was pissed lol I wasted like 2 hours of his time

making ur childs life a little easier doesn't hurt, as long as he's earned it. theres nothing wrong with shelling out what u can afford for a child that gets good grades in school, and doesn't get brought home by the police

+1 to this too... you guys give Luis too much shit for wanting to get rid of it...

He ended up buying a lemon from a shitty dealer... I don't see how it's his fault...

and you can't say he should just be happy with what his parent's got him when his parent's don't like the car either! His parent's want him to get a different car... Also can't tell him to "just be happy what you were given" when the thing sucks down gas faster than most heavy duty trucks... I'd want to get rid of it too!

not to mention he got it for achieving eagle scout (which those who have reached it know it's not so easy) and he seems like a fairly bright kid, so I'm guessing he did pretty well in school... I would guess he worked harder to do those things than he would have worked going to a minimum wage job...
