2009 Corvette ZR1: First Drive

Sounds like the GT-R isn't even remotely competition...

looks like the old corvettes and i like those looks. the new ones don't have enough curves to make it look aggressive

lol, can't say as I would go that far, but it would certainly be my first choice assuming I had the money, and could get it for sticker. It truly shames the Ford GT.

That car isnt that cool. Sure its fast as hell and would blow the doors off anything but still doesnt make me want it

I dont like corvettes and that looks no different than any other vette. There for someone who knew nothing about vettes would be like wow just another corvette.

A Viper on the other hand tho

Same thing could be said for a Cobra. To someone who doesn't know anything about Mustangs, it's "just another Mustang".

The sleeper factor is actually something I like about it.

I'm not gonna defend it, and I'm certainly not going to buy one, but it's nice that one domestic company can make a world-beating car and then price it such that one of us has a slight glimmer of hope of owning one sometime down the road.

The Ford GT I used to really, really like, and I still love the looks of, but for $130k sticker, and $180k street price, it shouldn't have *any* issues outperforming with a car that sells for $70k (and $40k or less used). Between the GT and the new batch of Shelbys, Ford seems to be focusing more on selling image and nostalgia instead of honest performance ('00 Cobra R and Terminators excepted).

I was not talking performance to price statistics and all cause those where not defending my desicion. I was going by pure looks and for the it goes to the Ford GT and the Viper IMO

im not a fan of vettes, but that one is a beast... id still rather drive a KB charged Shelby GT-H (i dont know why but i love those cars... would take one over anything)
