Maybe I'll give them a shot when my subscription runs out. This AVG has worked great for me though.

I use AVG on every computer I've ever had and I've NEVER seen AVG cause a blue screen. I know about 10 computers (friends) that run AVG and have never had virus problems. I also run AVG on all my computers at work and once again have never had problems.

I don't know what kinda systems you work with... But I've put AVG on everything from a P3 to my Core 2 system. And I've never had any problems.

As of not seeing much development... AVG updates everyday. Or at least close enough. And they recently released a new version.

And besides. As long as your smart on the internet and don't download stupid ****. Chances are your not going to get a virus.

ive always used norton and never had a problem never been infected with something it didnt catch imediatley. i hear good things about nod32 and kaspersy. the only ones i refuse to use and refuse to let my friends use is mccaffee and anything free.

as far as your torrent issue try bittorrent thats what i use. if your connected thru a lan then most likley the net admin has a block on either torrent software apps or the specific ports they usually use. at college our admin had the server set to where we couldnt get one much of anything well until we tapped into it and fixed it lol.

Im a computer technician i've seen more computers in one month then you've seen in your life Ive seen AVG cause plenty of blue screen of death and seen literally hundreds of computers with avg that are suffering a mass infection still. ive also removed avg from a computer when avg has scanned clean. installed a real anti virus and caught viruses that avg didn't even know were on the system.

Free is never as good as pay. plain and simple. that applies to anything in life.

its like a free couch. sure it works but it smells like piss and isnt very comfortable.

For example, have a computer im working on right now keeps getting infected with spyware.

AVG scans clean so i took the hard drive out and scanned with Kaspersky on one of our scanning units here. caught 168 infected files. most of which were downloader Trojans. that AVG had no idea were there.
