Grass experts...

No not that kind dorks.

I think my lawn is St. Augustine grass. Its like expensive weeds or something. It does real good down south where the heat is similar to putting an arc welder on your lawn. Anyway, I got weeds like a bitch. Dollar weeds and clover like crazy. I've tried some granular shit that doesnt seem to phase it. Its hard to find something that works well on the weeds without killing the lawn since its a broadleaf. Can someone give a suggestion of a water based weed killer I could use with some success? Like the kind you hook up to the hose?

Thanks.

I have a bad history of fucking around with flamable stuff. When I first got Seafoam for the car, I had spilled some on the garage floor (I didnt know it at the time but it was running back down and out my air filter in the front) Anyway, like an idiot I put a cigarette out on the floor. Well, I think I almost wanted to see what would happen when I sucked them up into the shop vac. Long story short, I have a permanent "dent" in the drywall in my garage where the top of the shop vac blew off.

a guidance counselor once told my Mom I'd grow out of doing stuff like that. I dont think so.

I would stop by your local home depot or whatnot and talk to someone over there. Most weed killers are also grass killers. You need to be especially carefull with that St.Ag grass. I personally planted zoysia grass throughout my yard because its so thick it smothers out all the weds before they break through ( plus its like walking on a fairway when I walk across the yard ).

I just dont want to take a guess at something and have dead grass or just be out 15 bucks for something that doesnt work. I figured someone could suggest a good spray.

Only thing I can think of is a granular weed and feed... We have St. Augustine grass (we call it carpet grass) at home. If you keep it watered, it will take over the regular native grass. Most poisons will kill all type of non-wood plants..

Depending on how many weeds over how much ground, you might have to pull the damn things.

Screw home depot. Go to your local nursury or garden supply store and see what they recommend.

No shit! I thought I was the only one with Zoysia grass. That shit is awesome huh? Its so nice a think and green in the summer, but it dies off in the winter.....comes back nicer the next summer. Awesome. No weeds either.

As far as your lawn goes Jake, I dont know. I could look cause I used to use some shit that worked, I think it needed to be spread via spreader, then watered. Like these guys say, ask a local place and then go get it from HD. Best thing to do....as that is what I did and it worked. I dont know what the composition is to weeds verse grass, but some sort of Lime or something should also help.....I know it changes the acidity of the lawn to where you wont get certain types of weeds or shrooms. May have to go that route.
