about ready to smash this stereo...
anyone else hate how these damn things always have errors and eat CDs?
![]() ![]() ![]() spent the last few hours trying to pry out whatever was stuck in there...then finally got pissed and ended up ripping it out and tearing the entire headunit apart piece by piece... to find the dumb thing tried loading 2 CDs in one slot... if this keeps happening I'm getting a touchscreen... /rant

mine does it too. when ever it does it, take the trim piece off and unplug the radio for a while. when you plug it in it will initialize and work again. no lie.

oh well, at least now I know how to tear it apart and fix it... the slots were a little crooked when I opened it up, so I straightened them out, hopefully that fixes it for good (or at least a while) mostly was pissing me off cause it was taking so long, and I ended up putting my entire center console back together in complete darkness with nothing else but the light from my cell phone... |

yeah mines starting to not change discs and if i hit the front of it, it will work. this weekend im taking the stock head unit out and putting an alpine unit in.

My shit does that too, this one I cant figure out how to get out, its bullshit. So yours isnt the only one my mach1000 does that crap also.

The only difference between the Mach/Shaker 1000 is what's in the trunk. The rest of it is the same as the 460/500.

I got so pissed off with it before, I stopped using CDs and started using an FM transmitter for my ipod... but now I lost my ipod, so I was forced to either fix my CD player, or listen to the annoying morning radio shows...

Oh I just know its the 1k because all the amps at the top of the trunk. Thats the only differance though.

I've been thinking about it, and probably will if anything else goes wrong... cause I'm really only looking at thing to buy for my car that I can transfer to a V8 when I finally get one, and a nice headunit would be percfect...
but free fits my budget right now

460s have the amps on the top of the trunk too. the 1000 have subs in the trunk behind bothe wheel wells
