im getting mine out in about an hour and i am super scared. am i being pussy or is it as bad as people say it is.

I don't have wisdom teeth so I haven't experienced it first hand, but it definitely does suck large. They'll put you to sleep for it but after the drugs wear off it's gonna suck.

and I haven't had to have mine taken out... but my friends have, and they just used painkillers the doc gave them and they seemed fine...

Dont worry.I had 4 impacted wisdom extracted. They rate them from 1-5 as far as difficulty...5 being the worse. 3 of mine were 4s and one was a 5. Im telling you its not that bad. They will put you to sleep and you wont fully awake until you are home. I had no pain at all. The only part that was uncomfortable was the blood. It got a bit messy at times. They packed all my holes with this stuff that tastes like cloves and sewed them up. It wasnt bad at all. I was nervous as hell for nothing.

I have had worse trips to the regular dentist than the trip to the oral surgeon. Make sure you take your pain pills even if you dont want to or think you need them for the first day. I never had pain at the extraction site but di have a bit of bruising around my jaw and neck. The doc's can get a bit violent trying to dig those bitches out.

But really, no worries. Im sure you will see that you've been through worse.

jasonic has it nailed. i had mine taken out on the wed before thanksgiving 3 years ago then i worked black friday a couple days later at macy's... not too bad, i worked an 8hour shift and only got a little dizzy towards the end of the day from not having enough nutrition the days prior... they arent bad. i went in at 7am, got home a few hours later, woke up at 7pm the next day and thought it was 7am (same amount of darkness) so i got up, showered, got dressed, and my mom told me to go back to sleep haha, wrapped me in a quilt, gave me another vicodin and away i went.

yea, impacted sucks. had all four impacted. If they are just yankin them, it shouldnt be to bad. jaw will be sore for a few, but nothing pain killers cant handle. hope you dont smoke or like to suck crank, cause you arent allowed to suck....no straws, no smoking, nothing of the sort. just tell them you want the nitrous and to turn it up cause you still can feel everything.

like i said im not going out all the way. my insurance would only cover so much because ive had a lot of other dental work done this year, and it was going to cost me quite a bit out of pocket if i got put out all the way.

Just watch out taking care of them afterward... when I had all 4 of mine out a few years ago one of them got infected and messed up and it was horrible!

i had 4 teeth pulled a couple of years ago.. i loved the fact that i was put to sleep.. didn't feel shit during or after the surgery.. didn't hurt to eat anytime afterwards or anything.. my dentist did a great job
