Non Mustang Prob....... Need Help!
The wife was out running errands this morning in her 2000 Camry and out of nowhere the thing dies on her. She coasted into a parking lot and called me. I get there and check it out. It seems its not getting either fuel or spark. The engine will turn over while cranking.... but it wont fire. My first guess is the fuel pump. Im pretty sure I found it under the hood. Does anyone know of a way to test this pump to see if thats my problem? Anyone know of any other tricks to try to diagnose this thing? Im open to all suggestions!

the only i have ever learned to check fuel pressure is pull the line coming out of the pump and crank it.

Ther should be a little schrader valve on teh end of the metal fuel line ( looks like a metal valve stem for a tire ) hook a fuel pressure guage onto that and crank it to see if you have fuel pressure or not... As for the "Im pretty sure I found it under the hood." you didnt. The fuel pump is inside the gas tank. To replace it you will need to drop the tank and pull it out...

Umm no not really I dont think. I know its gettiing slower. Tried to cank it a couple times last night and again today. Battery is getting weak from all that. I got to thinking that this crap may be the timing belt too. GOD I HOPE ITS NOT! That thing would be a beeyach to get to let alone setting it right!

in my old kia sephia, you could get to the fuel pump by flipping up the back seat... it was right there under a metal shield.
