Has anyone else noticed?

a change in nature? just little things, for example i use to see toads and grasshoppers all the time during summer months, but the past couple years i havent hardly seen any toads and the grasshoppers are still thick but only for about a month or 2, just curious if anyone else has noticed things like this, could just be my area, and im not tryin to tie this global warming either, but just somethin to think about, if anyone cares lol

I've noticed there are barely any lightning bugs around my area any more...

but then again... me and my friend probably killed them all off with our baseball bats when we were kids...

smack 'em and they glow all the way till they hit the ground

entertained us for hours...

it must be a kansas thing. i think its weird that i have had to wear hoodies and jeans to work a lot lately. its only the first part of september and all of our doves are already gone south. as far as grasshoppers, our crops are stripped up here because of those bastards

I also noticed it was weird that we had little to no mayflies this year (our area of the city is right on the water, so we get tons of these every year... to the point we have to shovel them off the sidewalks)

also seemed odd that I spent my spring break last year in a foot and a half of snow...

i honestly think our seasons are starting to get off balance...kinda like when u set 2 clocks at the same time, one will eventually get ahead of the other...well our calenders are going to stay consistant, but theres no way the earth revolves around the sun the exact same amount of time or distance every revolution, so its fuckin with nature, but i dont expect the seasons to stay consistant with our calenders

I haven't seen as many bees as of late compared to how many I used to see.

Albert Einstein once said that if the bees disappeared, "man would have only four years of life left"

Not that I am an environmentalist or anything..

I believe the Earth changes gradually over time; it has been changing for as long as it has existed. In the past, we as humans never really watched, studied, or catalogued information like we do nowadays, and since technology has evolved, it has helped automate the collection and correlation of data through time. Therefore, awareness of this change is greater now than ever before; this new awareness is making some people worry.

As far as climate change, the world has changed climates many, many times; there have been several ice ages, and after the last one thawed, the melting ice created an inland seaway which actually divided North America in half. When the climate was more tropical there was a pluvial lake called Lake Bonneville that created the Great Basin. (ever hear of the Salt Flats? ) Then after the climate changed again it dried up leaving the Great Salt Lake.. So I say (along with my professors) that this whole climate change scare is part of an inevitable cyclical process of the Earth's ever-occurring development.

As for the people who believe we (humans) are the one and only cause of the 'global warming..' I suppose the dinosaurs and prehistoric plants caused the last major climate change...

theres still plenty of deer here. i drove the route home (about 2 hours of US-78 backroads) every weekend last year, and if it was dark, I had to drive at 10 and 2 with my brights on and hoping the dumb deer could hear my offroad exhaust and move the fuck off the road. ive still seen my share of deer this year too, though im not on the road as much...
