anyone know anything about torrents?
i have a question about certain programs and why from one tracker on my PC id get 400 kbps to 1 mbps download rate when now on my mac with a different program from the same trackers i get 30 kbps

Probably a limit imposed on your mac because I know that in windows, there is a set limit to how fast you could download and upload. Check and see if you could find out how to set the limit higher on your mac.

yeah i can set the speed theres global, unlimited, or limited and then you can set your kbps rate but whichever i choose its still the same rate.

torrents are seed based the more seed the more speed and it all depends on which seeds your connected to and how fast their uploading. you can download the same file 3 times back to back and get different speeds everytime. torrents are a fancy p2p

not necessarily true, you can have 5000 seederes on 56k, its still going to be slow as fuck because the upload is slow as fuck

exactly what i said depends on how fast their uploading i.e. 56k seeds as compared to .edu seeds
