"Fox" was a 1972 Ford "world car" project code name, coined by Ford project design guru Hal Sperlich. Sperlich was Lee Iacocca's Special Projects Assistant during development of the original Mustang. As part of the 1972 Product and Research Planning committee, and eventual head of that group, Hal envisioned a car that would be manufactured in the U.S. and Europe. Differing safety standards, assembly techniques, etc., between nations caused the project to be mostly ditched. By 1976, he knew something had to be done about the Mustang II - it was not selling and was just too weird and puny (Lee Iacocca's worst idea of all time - one Sperlich quietly disliked). Originally, the Fox platform included Mustang, Pinto, Taurus and the european Cortina models. Eventually, the Fox platform included only the Mustang and the Fairmont. There are many dimensional and mechanical similarities between the late '70's to early '80's Mustangs and Fairmonts. So, while the Iacocca's Mustang II came to the market in 1974, Sperlich was already working on the Fox Mustang that same year!!
Thanks to google^

Basically the name of the chassis was fox. So it should be Fox chassis not fox body
