Life insurance rant
There are very limited options for a life insurance policy on me because of my profession. It seems underwriters believe it's dangerous to fly more than 50 hours a year. Does that seem backwards to anybody else?
I hold an ATP (airline transport pilot) certificate, recieve an extensive medical examination every 6 months, attend intense training twice a year, and fly 35-40 hours per month, and can not pick up a policy. If I flew less than 1 hour a week, and only held a private pilots license, with no additional ratings (instrument, multi engine, ect...), I would qualify for a life insurance policy. Flying 50 hours a year or less is far more dangerous because it's impossible to stay profficient. I fly well maintained, turbine, multi enigne aircraft, and can't get life insurance, but the guy in the old beater, piston, single can This just seems totally absurd to me. It's frustrating, but I guess I'm going to have to join the AOPA again just so I can get life insurance to make sure my family is taken care of, if sometheing were to happen.

there are some companies that specialize in pilots and stuff, idk how much searchin you have done

Basically the AOPA is about the only way to go.
