What should I do with old cell phones
Is there anything functional these pos's can be used for. Are there any routers that can convert cellular broadcast to network broadcast? Then anytime the phone rings I could just pick up the nearest cellphone. Keep a crappy one in the garage, a tiny cheapy one in my pocket when outside for the afternoon, and a regular one inside the house for general use.
If you have a cable phone line, and I call you from my cellular phone, somehow the content is bridged. What happens? |

I think what you are talking about is VOIP phones no? Where the phone call is carried over the internet...anyways I have never heard of being able to convert them if you figure out a way let me know.....put them on ebay...lol..somewhere I have one of the old gray motorollas with the long black rubber antenna that was always up and the phone weighed like 43 lbs. I could probably get a fortune for that thing on ebay as an antique...

Nah, he's talking about making his cell phones receive his phone calls using some kind of wireless router. Think of it as a wireless network. When the Internet works on the main modem - for him, that would be when his land line rings - the Internet works on all the computers connected to that wireless network - for him, that would be all the cell phones ringing.

Nah, they wouldn't all ring. VOIP phones are all on the same net yet can find their why from caller to receiver just fine. Why couldn't a hub split the signal and pass one back down to earth to be dropped back into the net for VOIP. Imagine pushing a button on your phone and it only answers calls designated to you, another push and the phone answers your number as well as a number designated as the family's phone. Whether you're on the road or at home.

You can also donate them, I believe some of the battered women's organizations take them, as any phone can be used to call 911.
