What a joke. Why put it on the car if it can't take it? Lame.

Haha...serves him right. Bought an expensive car, then tore it up, and he feels he's not responsible for breaking it. Onboard computers don't lie.

Well he does get what he deserves for beating on it, but if turning that function off automatically voids the warranty, why put it on there.

Somewhere down the thread one user says that the manual says to not turn it off...

Hate to be an ass but it sounds to me like someone beat the shit out of his GT-R showing off and now it's broken.

If you're one of those guys that needs to speed everywhere or use LC to look cool, have fun proving your case. The black box records your driving style like Z06 pointed out, but you already knew this ahead of time. I suspect you just made the incorrect assumption that your car was indestructible.
Nissan will not cover damage due to misuse of:
Operating the vehicle with VDC off, except when rocking vehicle when stuck in mud or snow.
Wow man! I feel for you! I know that they tell us to not turn the VDC off but damn, to pay out of pocket for a new tranny....ouch!
Apparently that launch control isn't intended for pavement. I bet the techs at teh dealership are laughing their asses off at him. So am I.

It sucks that the drivetrain isn't overbuilt, but at the same time, it sounds like this guy just BEAT on this car.

vdc isnt even launch control, it keeps the suspension in line when taking corners and pulls and replaces power to wheels to keep you straight, if Im on a track I dont want my car doing that crap on the street its great but if I want my ass end comming loose in a turn to whip past someone my expensive ass performance car should be able to without breaking thats a joke

This is his best whine yet:

dont defend nissan on this, they sold us a car that we cant modify, and if we use the functions that were put on the car we will void our warranty, why do you think there is a black box on the car. Nissan knew this tranny is junk and by putting in the manual to not use the car with the vdc covers there ass for a bad transmission. lets think out of the amount of gtr's sold and how many have used launch control at least half, and how many have used car without vdc off at least 75%, so let me get this right nissan will only legally have to cover 25% of the cars sold in america. what if this happens to you.

I have never heard of a manufacturer making a car that they meant to be modified by the customer using aftermarket parts. He didn't read the fine print. That VDC is for mud an snow, not for pavement.

Scion tC , i have nitrous and they still uphold my warranty, as long I dont run over a 150 shot they will keep my drivetrain warranty minus my clutch
