Animal Identification

Alright.. I was awoken this morning about 3:10 am by my dog (10 mth old).. she was barking like crazy.. i gave it a few minutes to see if she would calm down.. but nope.. so i went outside to see what the deal was.. and as soon as i look outside (through the window), i'm angered because I see that she has slipped off of her runner and is walking toward the edge of our driveway looking down towards my dad's garden.. when i step outside, she turns around and comes to me, but knows shes in trouble for getting off the runner so i get on to her, cuz it's early as shit, im tired and have to be at work in less than 5 hours.. well right when im about to put her back on the runner, i hear a noise.. apparently it was whatever had her attention to begin with.. it was loud as shit.. scared me the first time quite honestly.. and my dog tensed up big time.. and the noise happened again.. so i walk, holding her tight in my arms so she doesnt tear off after whatever the noise is coming from and go to the spot at the edge of the driveway where she was before i came out.. and the noise happens again.... the noise sounded exactly like the sound of pouring cool water on a hot pan.. that steam kinda sound.. it was too loud to be a possom.. it didnt sound like a deer.. plus the fact that it stood around (i could never see it but i knew it hadnt moved).. and i dont know what else it could be.. my dog started growling something feirce so i agged her on and started barking (lol) at the direction to get her to and the animal finally runs off into the woods.. it's run was almost dead silent.. definitely not the sound of a deer running and it kept making the noise when it was leaving and every time it was much further away.. whatever it was.. it was very fast.. what do you guys think it was.. my dad said it could've been a bobcat or something like that.

It was a George Forman grill! Just kidding. Could it have been a Rattler? Gators are known to make a very low pitch sound like described. Could be a cat too if you didnt hear it running but heard its "sound". Could have also been a bird believe it or not. Some bigger species make fucked up calls that could be described as very loud crackling.

yeah im starting to wonder if it might've been a big cat.. i have never seen one in my life (im 21) but i know we've got them in our area and i remember when i was little hearing one scream.. all i know is that if im awoken again i will proceed outdoors with a big gun lawl.. the thing hauled ass though.. like i would hear the noise every couple seconds after it started leaving and it was just farther.... and farther... and farther away
