SVT Contour

Anyone have any experience with one. I might be getting one if i could get rid of my mountaineer. Seems like it would be a fun ride, 200hp and a 5 speed.

no experience, but imo, its like a neon srt4....regardless of how many letters are after the name..its still a neon

well I'm not planning on trying to make a racer out of it or beat anyone in a race. I just want a car that gets better gas mileage and is more fun to drive. I'm holding off on buyin a mustang until i have more money saved in like 2 years or so.

There's at least one guy on the board that has one. Decent cars, definitely underrated. Much more of a handling car, for certain.

i think the contour svt is a nice looking and seems like it would make a nice second car or winter beater. But if you can only afford one thing u might as well buy a mustang since conotur svt's are ovepriced and mustangs seem to be cheap as hell and worth nothing sadly.

they are not bad cars, nor good.. at most it would be a fun car to drive. But its not amazing on gas mileage.. buy a honda if you want a fun car to drive with great gas mileage

The SVT Contour has a curb weight of about 3000 lbs, and does 0 - 60 in approximately 7.5 seconds.

Anywayz, I owned a 95 Contour SE which has the same 2.5 DOHC V6 as the SVT but it is shy on power by 20hp. Mine was an auto and would bark second gear. I loved it but unfortunately mine ran like shit. They make 200hp N/A and would make a great tuner. Also there was a version of the car made in europe that had an available 6 speed. There are also supercharger kits made for them that make 300hp easy..

Yeah sunshine for some reason Europe always seems to get the cooler versions of some cars.

Shit, they even had a turbo Focus over there that had 250 or something hp. In a 2650 lb car.

They also had a special race edition one, with 300hp and awd.
