The Challenger doesn't have a chance now. For the power it has, even the SRT8, it's a slug.

i wonder if they'll find a way to reduce some weight.. maybe 50 pounds or so?

Nope, they will be giving the new mustang some McDonalds quarter lb'ers.

It can't gain much weight.... same platform, similar body/interior

lol its gonna be a repeat of the early mustangs.. gonna start off light and turn into a 2-ton behemoth before it goes back into a little 2800 pound anorexic baby

Really? What makes you say that? Other than the fox body years, the Camaro has always been the faster car. I don't really see anything that will be different. The new six speed SS Camaro is going to be nasty.

I guess we will just have to wait and see. A lot can happen between now and then.

'Tis true, but the '03/'04 Cobra was faster than the Camaro

. Anyway, yeah, I see what you're saying. You're going by the facts, and it looks like the Camaro might still be faster. It's getting a damn LS3! I really hope Ford steps it up with the 2011 Mustang.
