Oh man it's a different football game all together once it gets in HD!

Now I'm just pissed off at how slow the cable company COX takes to get new HD channels online.

At the moment we have about 12 HD channels, good ones like ESPN, CBS, DSC, TNT and more but we still DON'T have ABC, NBC, and FOX. Which is kind of strange considering ABC owns ESPN which we do have.

I want a plasma tv pretty bad but I have a friend who works for COX cable and he advised me against it. He said that a bunch of the people he installed for complained about having to have the screen refilled after so long b/c the plasma gets weak and needs replacemant.

Don't worry I have "heard" about a new kind of television that will be coming out within the next 4-6 years that will surpass the plasma. So if you just got a plasma screen, don't worry, you may never have to recharge it!

Get an off air antenna for local HD broadcast. Direct TV is in the process of launching new sats, I think they have 2 up now, and they should be 100% HD within the next year or so, including local channels.

That isn't the specific item I am talking about, that has been around for the past couple years, the consumer cost of them needs to go down.

But the public most likely won't opt for a projection television. It isn't too appealing to the average joe.

I am talking about something similar to the box on your stand that will be next gen for years to come. But it will only be available in Japan in 4 years, here I have no clue!
