windows vista gurus come here

so me and the wife got new laptops today. dual core amd, 4gb ram, 250gb hdd, dvd burner with light scribe 17 inch screen the works. the problem is its got vista on it and i have never used it due to well it being a pile of shit. now im stuck with this shit and i need help. is vista backwards compatiable with xp networks? i got the wireless connection set up but when i click on the network it does not show the main pc or the old laptop. all it shows is the old laptop as a media player. is there a way to disable that retarted fucking pop up box that wants permision to do something every fucking time i click to change a setting?

Yes it should work with an xp network.. Why dont you make the vista computer the main part of the network?.. And idk about the pop box but vista will ask u about everything. It is annoying.

The fact that the other computer is XP shouldn't have anything to do with your new computer finding the wireless connection. Make sure wireless is turned on and visible on ur internet settings on the xp computer.. Then try to find it on your new computer.

Vista requires a learning curve to understand. Vista was built to keep the average user from doing things that could seriously effect their computers. In otherwords it was built to be "dummy proof". Even though you might have set your profile as an "administrator" you are not a true admin on your comp...you are more of a power user, unless you are using ultimate.

Everyone always dogs the new operating system as the worst thing out there...but the last one was the best one out there...take the time and understand that with new systems there are new hacks and new thinking.

If you are seriously annoyed with pop up and really want to disable the function...but yet also understand the risks of what can come out of it....here is how to create a true admin account on your pc...

How To: Enable Vista's Administrator Account

Well like dude said, it's very user friendly. I don't know much about computers. I just used to fuck them up. Since I have gotten my laptop last year I have learned Vista pretty well. It fixes its self, updates its self, and has enough safety features that getting a virus is very unlikely. I have come around, and I must say that I really have begun to love Vista.

I'm not a computer wizard, I broke mine yesterday and spent most of the day fixing it.

revert to xp, end thread lol

but not to be a douche bag but intel is better on the dual core and quad core. AMD was a beast on the single cores though.

They are compatible, so i dont know why you have having troubles. I have never really messed with vista.

I think that the dual core AMDs aren't to shabby, from what my friend told me, Computer Science Engineer friend, the AMD has a better system that lets the dual core setup run process faster then the Intels ever could.

Not true. I have ultimate and it still made me padded admin until i disabled UAC

Make sure your network is set to a private location in the network and sharing center. might be a root cause of your problem
