Living off the land

Okay guys, I have made up my mind that next spring I want to go somewhere in the north/west and live off the land...Like Montana, Colorado, North Dakota, etc...

I want to just go up there with a tent, fishing poles, and possibly a rifle, and just live....I'll take some fire starter logs and possibly some "reserve" food, and lots of clothes, but thats about it...

Seriously, anybody want to join me?

you don't want to go anywhere too cold unless you plan on constructing a log cabin in the forest.

I believe you're talking about "Into the Wild."
Is it the one about some IDIOT guy who starts out living off the land out West. Then he decides to go to Alaska, crosses a frozen river, and lives in a bus. Then when he goes to return the river isn't frozen so he can't cross. But if he had a map he would have found out that the river broke into many fingers about 3/4 mile upstream. He truely was a dumbass.

If you're going to live off the land, at least bring a map and compass. There's also no need for a lot of clothes. 2 pairs of clothes it the MOST you should have (1 for wearing and 1 incase those get wet). I've gone backpacking for 2 weeks and only had the clothes I was wearing and 3 pairs of socks.
