Well after a full day of thrashing on it... still does not run......
Thanks for all the help mikey. Mikey and I both think its transmission related. so guess what... tranny gets to come back down. The engine was not getting spark. Do we tested to see if the battery was doing. Turns out we had 13 volts before hitting the starter and it would drop down to 6.5-7 once the starter was hit... So we got the battery replaced under warrenty, and ironicly it tested good. But they still replaced it for me. The pertronix will not work without 8.5 volts. Put that one in and no beans still. So the starter makes it turn over really slowly. Put it up in the air on the back to see if it was not disengaging and the resistance on the tires was causing the issue... well still nothing in any of the gears. So next i loosened up the bands... and still nothing... so the tranny will come back down to see if its whats causing the issue. The motor turned over just fine when we just had the torque converter on it. So here is how it sits now. everything else is finished, ready to run... full of fluids too....except for the fact that the MSD (might suddenly die) 6AL box was not giving the coil any power... so it looks like it has died before its ever run. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Im just so frustrated with the thing.... going to take a day or two off from it.

Thanks for the help today Mikey!
Got it done! Its ready to fire up tomorrow morning. Everything but a wire from the alternator to the kill switch is done. The engine is aligned with the tranny down the center of the tunnel. Drive shaft is on. Car will roll now in neutral and stays put in park.... Everything is looking great. We even aligned the K member. The car is going to have to go to the alignment shop, but that will be no big deal if it starts tomorrow. Lets hope it goes smoothly tomorrow, and if it does it will have a few track passes on it! Everything is in working order at this point, except that the starter is still cranking kinda slow. Figure a brand new motor, tight valve springs, and 11.5 compression might have something to do with that though. So here is how it sits... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() and me in my excitement... ![]() Will see tomorrow... I will be sure to update!

Well I got some good video.... but the car didnt perform well at all... infact I broke it...
Got it teched out and it passed... need a new windshield and have to seal off some holes. I have an audience watching this car for some reason. I dont know why, but people are starring and just watching... so im nervous but its really cool having people stare at the car and just watch... So i get up to the tower for the first pass... starts spinkling... great. wait that out. Then go to fire the car up, and no fire up at all. So finally got it started after I find out the fuel bowls have now fuel and the car is flooded. So i get it started. and go for the first pass. Its a single pass the way the put me back in. Do a one tire fire burn out and get up to the tree. Just brought it up on the converter a little bit, and nailed the throttle. The cable came off. So the car will run a 31@46 MPH at idle... So i heard all kinds of crap from the stands. OWEL Get back to the pits... fix it with some zip ties. go back to the lanes. Had to wait quite a bit of time in the staging lanes... thought it was ready. Went and did a great burn out. and then went to the tree. Took off better but then something went wrong in the tranny. No way was it Trey's falut, as I have had the tranny apart a few times now after i got it back from him. but you can see the smoke in the video. It ran a 42@27 mph... so this is how my night ended... ![]() ![]() But I do have a Fresh C4 lined up already and should still beable to make it on Sunday! And here are some pretty sweet pictures of it atleast... ![]() ![]() ![]() So... tomorrow is another day... What can expect. the car has more power than I thought it would and i think will be a good bit faster than my original intensions. But time will tell.

I will have the engine and tranny out tonight... have the spare tranny tonight, and then can take both of them to Chris who owns a shop and does trannys for a living. He is going to help be get back on track for Sunday.
While the motor is out, I will stick a new rear main in it, since i do have a rear main leak. But I am back on track it looks like... and thank god for the trailer! Oh the tranny works in reverse, but not forward gears, so its somehting in that part of it... but im not too worried. Chris will help me out!
